Free MAC Address Lookup
A MAC address lookup checks the registered assignment behind a network interface address. Enter a complete 12-hex-digit MAC address to find its vendor or organization, allocation block, registered country, and whether the address is unicast, multicast, globally unique or locally administered.
How MAC vendor lookup works
The beginning of a globally assigned MAC address belongs to a block registered to an organization. A lookup compares the address with public assignment data and returns the matching vendor record. This can help identify an unfamiliar network interface, check inventory records or investigate devices listed by a router.
A vendor result identifies the organization that received the address block, not necessarily the finished device brand, model, owner or current location. Hardware modules are often built by one company and installed in products sold by another.
Why some MAC addresses have no vendor
Modern phones and computers can use randomized, locally administered MAC addresses to reduce tracking on Wi-Fi networks. Those addresses are intentionally outside normal global vendor assignments and may not return a manufacturer. New or private assignments may also be absent from a third-party database.
