How the extended DNS leak test differs
The homepage DNS leak test shows resolvers answering leak-test domains. The extended test collects more resolver observations, including ECS and DNSSEC-related detail, so you can see recursive resolvers in the path.
Comparing DNS with your VPN
If the resolver country or ASN matches your ISP while the public IP matches a VPN, DNS may be leaking. Point the OS or browser at the VPN DNS, disable insecure fallback, and re-run both this test and the homepage leak test.
