IP Location Finder — Look Up an Address Instantly
InstantIPCheck is a free network tool that shows your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses as soon as the page loads, plus the approximate location, ISP, ASN and related connection details. You can also look up any other public IP or hostname.
What this IP checker shows
A public IP is the internet-facing number websites see when you connect. InstantIPCheck reads that address from your current session, then adds network context: country, region, city, ISP, organization, hostname and Autonomous System Number (ASN). Location is approximate — IP data identifies a network, not a street address or a person.
The same page also runs optional privacy checks so you can see DNS resolvers, WebRTC candidates and browser fingerprint signals. Nothing here requires an account.
How to check your own IP
Open InstantIPCheck.com. When the page finishes loading, your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses appear at the top of the report, with the city and country estimate underneath.
Use the IPv4 / IPv6 switch if both addresses exist. Copy an address with the button beside it. Mask, Report and History sit on the same sheet if you want to hide values, export a diagnostic snapshot or review recent IPs stored in this browser.
How to look up someone else’s IP or a hostname
Use Lookup on the homepage, or open the dedicated IP lookup tool. Enter a public IPv4 address, IPv6 address or domain name, then run the search.
The result is geolocation and network ownership for that address. Private, loopback and documentation ranges are not routed on the public internet, so they will not return a normal location.
Results for your connection versus an external lookup
When the tool checks your own session it can show more than a remote lookup, because the browser is available: geolocation, ISP and ASN, DNS and WebRTC observations, operating system, browser and fingerprint-related signals.
When you look up an external IP or hostname, the result is limited to public network data — typically geolocation, ISP/organization and ASN. Browser and fingerprint details only exist for the device that is visiting the page.
Why people use an IP location finder
Confirm a VPN or proxy is actually changing the address sites see. If the reported IP and country match your home connection, the tunnel is not covering this browser.
Support and operations teams use city-level geolocation to see whether a report lines up with a regional outage. Privacy-minded users review DNS, WebRTC and fingerprint sections to understand how much a site can observe without extra permission.
